#NaNoWriMo – Day 6/30 – Ugh, what am I doing?

So we’re almost one week in and I continue to push along with my piece, “Killing Time”. I’ve sort of written myself into a circle, I have no clue how to transition to the next phase of my story. It’s making it hard to care about the story when it seems so impossible, but I will keep it going.

I snuck in a mere 1,761 words today while I had a little writing sprint at 3pm at work which brings my total up to 13,068.

I’m still ahead of pace, which is what motivates me. Once I fall behind the 1666 pace I tend to fall apart.

NaNoWrimo – Day 5/30 (2) – Staying ahead of pace

So I had a tough time writing while at work today, why must business get in the way?  Well, I got my word count up tonight, nothing amazing I only added 1,762 words to my piece today.  I cannot believe the plot holes, lack of direction and general garbage I am allowing to creep into this novel.  I’m going to spend 30 days writing it and 30 years editing it.  Ugh!

At any rate, I’m burnt today, going to stop at a final word count after day 5 of 11,307.

NaNoWrimo – Day 5/30 – Broke 10k for the FIRST TIME!

Hey all!  I snuck in a really, really brief sprint while I’m at work.  I will get myself fired 😉

I added a quick 467 words to me NaNoWriMo entry, “Killing Time” giving a grand total of 10,012.  That make this my first year actually breaking the 10k mark and I feel great being well ahead of pace.

I wish I knew a good book cover creator, can anyone sugest one?

NaNoWrimo – Day 4/30 (2) – Updated to today’s previous post

I keep taking little breaks from work to sneak in a bit of writing.  I spent the last 40 minutes adding 962 more words to my piece “Killing Time” although I have no idea where my lastest plot point is heading because I’m trying to stream conciousness.

Total count is now up to 9,143.  I feel awesome being this far ahead of pace.

NaNoWrimo – Day 4/30 – Keep on keeping on!

It’s day four of NaNoWrimo 2013.  This is officially the farthest I’ve ever gotten, in both days of writing and word count.  I really am enjoying it more this year for some reason and I am absolutely planning to complete this thing.

I snuck in a little writing at work today, 54 minutes while no one was looking for me.  I added 1,447 words to “Killing Time”, my entry for the year.  That brings my running total to 8,181 and I am not done for the day.  My plan is to sneak in a little time after lunch and a bit tonight around doing some homework to push over 10,000 for the first time in my NaNo career.

I really hope everyone else is having as much fun as I am this year.

NaNoWrimo – Day 3/30 – Writing Buddies Accepted!!

It’s day three of NaNoWrimo 2013.  Usually I’ve already burnt out and killed my piece of garbage novel somwhere around the 4,000 word mark, gotten frustrated that I wrote a complete bunch of crap and given up.  Wow, I suck!

 

But not this year.  My story still sucks, I have plot holes, unintentional tense changes and a 15 page prologue that’s about 14 and 1/2 pages too long but it involves pirates.  Lots of pirates and as cliche as I write them it’s fun talking like a pirate…or writing like one anyway.
